About the firm
Avi Nayyar
JD · BA · Barrister & Solicitor
Raised in British Columbia by hardworking immigrant parents, Avi learned early that the answers exist; someone has to be willing to find them, and to stand behind them. That discipline shapes the firm: read everything, explain it plainly, and stand beside the person it belongs to.
Outside the courtroom, Avi is an active community advocate and a mentor to young people across Greater Vancouver, the same commitment to standing beside people that defines his work as counsel.

If your liberty, your status in Canada, your family arrangements or your finances are at stake, early advice changes what's possible. A consultation is confidential and carries no obligation; at minimum, you'll leave knowing exactly where you stand.
A confidential conversation, by phone or in person. Bring whatever you have: documents, dates, deadlines, names. You'll get an honest read on your position and clear next steps before you decide anything.
Openly, and before any commitment. The structure depends on the matter: some work suits a fixed block fee, some is hourly, and you will always know the arrangement before work begins.
Stay calm and polite, say that you wish to speak to a lawyer, and don't answer substantive questions until you've had advice. Then call; the earliest steps matter most.
